Understanding Stress

Modern life is full of hassles, deadlines, frustrations, and demands. For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress isn't always bad. In small doses, it can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you're constantly running in emergency mode, your mind and body pay the price. For the rest of this article, go to Help Guide

If you are experiencing some of the signs and symptoms of stress, you may want to consider seeking some professional help. Through our benefits plan, members and eligible dependents may access counselling provided by a registered clinical psychologist or a Master of Social Work. Benefits include: $50 a session up to a maximum of 12 sessions a calendar year (January 1 to December 31). If you are presently seeing a psychologist or MSW/RSW and not sure whether they are one of our Greenshield providers, contact Alex or myself and we will find out for you. Please drop by the office or call Alex at 905-641-6560 or Donna at 905-641-6559.
